I'm fairly certain Wolfenstein ET is free...I'd check that out.

I forget if it has a native port or what, but I think it's free and fairly popular.

If you have Quake 3 you should be able to find a Q3 linux installer on the net that uses the .pak files so you dont have to buy a whole new copy.

nope.

Enemy Territory is probably the best fps you'll find in and out of linux. it IS native to linux, and runs great on opengl. it's fun, and so many people are still playing it.

i've installed quake3arena just fine, native.

i've installed quake4 just fine, native.

i've installed unreal tournament 2004 perfectly, the CDs even have a linux installer.

idk what distro you are using, but your distro should have a package manager that can do all of this for you.. using the .run installer is like the manual way without using your package manager.

anyway, it should have installed all the necessary files, and the executable file into /usr/games/bin or something, you can type "et" into the terminal (if you are in the "games" group) and it should run.
and any command can easily be turned into a shortcut on your desktop.

just create a new shortcut or launcher, and the command is "et"

you have 2.55, i like that version, more servers and people in servers too.

yea actually it did install everything.. its odd tho it only shows up on a 1/4 of my screen .. is there a way to force it to a certain reso likje 1366x768 and when i do connect to a server it starts to download a few items and then it fails to get them all so i can never connect to the servers
