Recommend me a Flash Drive

Soooooooo.

It's Christmas time, and la de dah, people decide Gift Cards are FREAKING A GREAT IDEA. Nevermind the 5$ activation charge, or the fact it can only be spent in one place.

So I got two Bestbuy Gift cards, one for 40$, one for 20$. So..60$. Looking @ BestBuy, not much I really want to buy there in the 60$ range, sure I could augment it with more money and buy something else, but meh!

Figured I'd finally get myself a decent sized thumb drive. My current is a 2GB one that I got with the SCII CE.

I don't know much about quality, who to get from, price wise, but it's limited to BestBuy & 60$(and whatever shipping is)

I was thinking 16-32GB in size, as I want to try installing Windows from a USB Drive. I heard that is super fast, on top of me getting a SSD, some said you can install Windows in -10- minutes like that. Plus just large files.

I hear PS3's, which I am getting soon, have USB Ports, and I plan to use mine as a Media Server or whatever, and I figure it'd be easier if I could just bring large files to it from the USB stick than I dunno, use my Modem to transfer them to it?

So can anyone recommend me one with fast speeds, good build quality, and decent size? Thanks.

Cheap, looks like it's a good one, thoughts?

Also this for about 63$, but I think free shipping.

The Flash Voyager's from Corsair are awesome. I've had mine run over by a car and left in a gutter for 3 days before finding it. 3yrs on and still working like a charm.

It does have a removable lid tho, and if not careful, it will get lost.

Also, you may want to note this for later, but PS3's only accept FAT32 file system. (unless something has changed and I'm unaware of it)
So, obviously, files will be limited to 4gb in size max.

Ok, 4GB is fine enough, most of the files are 800MB - 2GB. That's per file, right, not in total?tongue.gif

Could cause issues with some of my bigger ones ,kind of annoying, but I guess I could transfer those manually. Amazon has the same Voyager, USB 3.0 for only 40$. Wish I could use my BestBuy cards there.

Voyager looks to be where it's at. Speed, performance, durability, size. USB 3.0, which my new computer will feature. Hmm, I hope the PS3 can output 10bit MKV files and allow me to select subtitle & audio tracks and look as good as they do when I use a Thumb Drive on my new Panasonic ST30. The only issue is 90% of my MKV's don't work with the Viera Media Player, you can't select subtitles or Audio Tracks either, so it's a bust there. tongue.gif

I know about the Media Server, I plan to do that when I get one, as it sounds badass, but no, I am not doing it just for the PS3. Like I said, I want it to carry files around and all that.

I wish that someone would like buy it for me on Amazon & put my shipping address and I could like give em the 40$ Gift-card. Oh well. Save me money.
