The sound of the keys is there, and they make a good click when you press down all the way, but not like the sound of blue switches.

The back lighting is great, with 3 different modes (low, medium, high), and the keyboard is bright.

I am with you on the color though, because I don't really like the silver, and the black macro keys.

The macro keys are nice, and fully programmable. You can have it do a set of keystrokes, or open an application, or cut/copy/paste.

I do notice the keys feel a bit dull with the finish. They are not glossy, and if you have any moisture on your fingers they will smear on it, but it's easy to get off.

Feels a lot different to type on (I'm coming from an Eclipse 3), and I can't tell you how many mistakes I have made typing this. But that comes with every new keyboard.

Other than that, it feels like a nice keyboard. My only gripe is the color. I still haven't decided if I am going to keep it or not. It's either this, or a G510.

If I can't find the BW Stealth on Amazon or Newegg I might have to get over how aesthetically unpleasing the Corsair K90 is and get it. :/

It's exclusive to the Razer Store. Feel lucky, I can't even get it in my country tongue.gif

The K90 has an unusual color scheme, but the backlighting is really nice. The thing people complain most about is that not all keys are mechanical.
After gaming on it for a little bit, I'm not sure if I like the red switches. They are really, REALLY easy to press down. I find myself only slightly tapping another key and it registering.

I think I will take it back and pick up a G510. Mechanical is nice, and I LOVE the sound, but not sure I like the K90.

If I dislike the G510 more, I will take it back and stick with the K90.

I hope Fry's doesn't mind. worriedsmiley.gif

If you exchange it for a G510, let me know how it compares to the K90 smile.gif

I would've gone with a mechanical keyboard with MX Brown switches, as they seem to offer the best compromise between typing and gaming. Too bad no such keyboards are available over here.

What I like about the G510 is that programs like Fraps and Afterburner have their own built-in apps that will run on the LCD of the keyboard. It's unnecessary, but who would say no to a FPS graph wink.gif
post #15 of 22
I will do.

I just exchanged it, and I am using it now. Literally just plugged it in, so give me a little bit to figure everything out, type some more on it, and game a bit.

Right away I do like how it types, maybe because I am used to the standard keyboard feel, but this is nice.

This is just me, but I've had the G510 for about 2 months and I freaking love it. I got it for $80 (yet the price dropped to $70 after I ordered it, of course mad.gif )It's amazing. I've never had a mechanical keyboard, but the G510 is great and you should consider it.

Mechanical keyboards aren't for everyone, and it does take a few tries before you find the "perfect switch." The great thing about Fry's is that you can return pretty much anything opened or not, I love their return policy. Give a few keyboards a try and hopefully you'll end up happy with one of them!

Well the OP is looking for macro keys, which our Ducky's do not have. And, he has giftcards to Newegg and Amazon, not tank guys, lol tongue.gif

But if it were just a straight mechanical, I would probably recommend the Ducky tenkeyless. Great little board.
