Perhaps someone could explain what is getting temps in a gpu, hehe. 2 or 3 things? and what i see in hw has nothing to do whit my voltage?

So thats why the temps didnt go up raising the voltage. :-( But the card got windforce 2x anti turbulence or something like that, so that must provide some cooling?? Im very new whit oc if you didnt allready figured it out, hehe

This is the card, that has some cooling, doesnt it? but how good? not very perhaps? lol

Same card I have. Same one in the thread I linked you. That cooler actually works very well directing the air where it needs to go. And the small cooler on the vrms makes very good contact.

But if you read manfromatlantis' thread, he only uses 1.20v or anything near that for benching--not gaming or daily use. For a 460 that's some serious voltage.

Even with a good cooler like that I still say 1.10v as the max. I ran mine for a few weeks at that voltage and some pretty long gaming sessions, but, it just wasn't enough gain for me so I backed down to 1.087 and found my max clocks there. If I could of hit ~950/960 on the core I'd have stayed at 1.10v but the card just couldn't do it.

So whats your core clock and memory? 860 and 2200Mhz seems to be max i can run bf3 in whit 1087, without artifacts perhaps i should just stay there then?
Right now I run 921/1842 core/shaders and 2002 memory @ 1.087v.

You could always back the memory down to about 1850/1900 and see if you can get further with the core.

Try 900 core 1900 memory at 1.087 and see if it works out.

I wish I can get my cards stable at 900 core @1.087V.

Have you tried backing the memory down? Try 1900. Or 1850.

No, I haven't try that. Will this affect performance?

Whats best you think?

860/1680 and 2200MHz

910/1820 and 1900MHz?

What kind of program do i use to see if the **** is stable? NOT occt, it will not work on my settup for some reason. THink it has to do whit my core unlocking, but not sure
post #19 of 29
Having a high memory frequency can hold back on a higher core overclock, not really much point in oc'in memory on gpus much either. 910/1820 and 1900MHz is better, higher core/shader clock > higher memory clock. If occt doesn't work for you, try evga oc scanner, furmark isn't really a good stability tester compared to occt & oc scanner.

Ah, i see.

So if i have the memory clocked at 1900MHz,that should be enoufh? I only got the 768Mb card, does that affect how i should clock it?

So i set the memory at,lets say 1900MHz, il push the core clock up intill i hit unstable, then back down 10-20MHz? is it anyway to find out what temps my card is working on? I mean this i affect when raising voltage.
