It reminds me of a show I saw about extreme audiophiles. They spent a lot of money on their gear but had a lot of money to spend. The only guy who got any lip from his wife(they asked them in the show) was the guy who seemed to have the least disposable income to spend on his gear.
Be careful I got an infraction once for a very similar joke. I think it was even in OT.

Don't see how. I've been o er the tos really carefully after I got infractions for arguing with someone im a pm and using * grouped together to make an assumption of a bad word. But now, I've broken the rules speaking about my infractions publicly...oops. guess its suppose to be hidden so as not to stir ip controversy...

If I had a boat load of money I'd do the same. If you're rich why the hell not?

would've made it a little more reasonable (but still in the realm of ridiculous)

16,000.00 HKD = 2,057.54 USD
Hong Kong Dollar US Dollar
1 HKD = 0.128596 USD 1 USD = 7.77627 HKD

While to me this is a crazy purchase I'm not going to pass judgement on what kind of person he is. After all if he has enough to drop 16k on a virtual sword I'm sure he has no money worries. Its his cash let him spend it on whatever he wants. He is obviously doing something right to even have 16k to blow on something so who am I to judge.

Chinese Yuan Renminbi US Dollar

I said Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), not Yuan (CNY).

And forgive me if this sounds abrupt, but I don't need the conversion spelling out for me. I do most of my business with Chinese companies (buying materials, etc) aswell as own a home out there and I am married into a rather business minded Chinese family too.

They have taught me the ways of the force, lol.

as you can see i had changed my post (since i had originally selected the wrong curreny conversion). i was simply pointing out that it would've been more reasonable if it had been in another currency...settle down francis

My name is not Francis.

And I didn't notice your edit. Neither did I intend for any offence (as I quite clearly stated). I'm simply pointing out that I do have a shred of intelligence.

I mean, this is not unheard of, right? We've got kids selling their kidneys in the streets of Shanghai for Ipads. What's another few organs to claim an amalgamation of pixels in your name?
The person must be rich and is just giving the company a boost in sale, probably, hopefully, I think so.

Let's be a little more realistic here. If the guy could afford to pay 16k for a virtual sword I'm pretty sure he could afford a hooker, or even a wife, lol. To some people on this planet 16k is more like £16.

The article doesn't state if it's US dollars or Hong Kong dollars though.

good call! i totally agreed...

also i m sure its 16000 rmb... which is ~2000 usd ... still ridiculous...but people in china...there are really poor ones..and then there are the really rich ones..that many of you don't understand.
