In order to break go past 230, try lowering all those to x4. I've gotten the same ram your using to go ~1008Mhz at 4,4,4,12, so try pushin up to 250. If your gonna go past 250 your gonna either need to loosen the timings from cas4 to cas5 or start using a bigger ram divider as well as drop those HT multi's down to x3 so you dont go too far over 1000HT. Look here to see some of the timings I got with that ram http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/11...ng-king-3.html.

Question for the following. Can anyone explain what these are for?
HT MULTIPLIER
CPU<-->nForce SPP set on AUTO 5X
nForce-->nForce MCP @5X
nForce<--nForce MCP @5X

CPU SPREAD SPECTRUM DISABLED

TIA, Ray
As some of the others said, try to lower all the HT multipliers to 4X, it should give you some head-room.
If this doesn't work, try to increase the CPU core voltage (Vcore) to around 1.45V. Before doing this, you should make sure the load temps @230FSB don't go over 45-48°C. If you are within these safety margins pump up a little the Vcore and see what happens. Cheers!

Can anyone tell me if any adjustments have to be made on these settings?

PCIe Bus, Slot 1, MHz AUTO set @100

PCIe Bus, Slot 2, MHz AUTO set @100

SPP<-->MCP Ref Clock MHz AUTO set @200

P.S. What are RAM dividers, and how do you use them?
My memory is CORSAIR XMS2 1GB PC2 6400C4(not the PRO)
3.3.3.5.12 1T timings didnt work.

The new corsair DDR2 ram was not made to be run 1T. I can run 1T on most speeds, but I actually get slightly better memory performance and better fps in 3dmark06 with 2T.

There should be a 400/533/666/800 setting for ram somewhere.

Under memory settings the options are as follows:

Timing mode: User Limit or Auto
User Limit is selected now and the memory clock is set at DDR2800, if Auto is selected it is kept at DDR2400.

When User Limit is selected, available Memory Clock limits are:
DDR2400
DDR2533
DDR2667
DDR2800

What is the above used for?

LMAO we have almost the same hardware!!

I just put my computer together on monday so I haven't done any overclocking yet. Any advice on how long you guys think I should wait to give my thermal grease (arctic silver 5) time to set? And realistically what kind of overclock speeds I can anticipate with aircooling?

I have 2 80mm fans on the window, 1 80mm fan on the top, 1 80mm fan on the back, and a 120mm fan in the front as well.

Those speeds are telling the mobo what max speed to run the ram at, this is also how you set the ram divider. Depending on your cpu multiplier and this max mem speed, you divider is automatically set at a certain number. For example at mine at stock is 200 x 10 cpu w/ ddr2 800 set, the divider is set to 5....so that 2000Mhz / 5 = 400 Mhz ram (x2 for ddr2) so thats 800 Mhz. Now when I over clock this over this to 267 x 9 w/ ddr2 667 set, The divider now turns to 6, so that 2400Mhz / 6 = 400 Mhz ram still.

In order to over clock you need to either run the ram divider bigger to slow down the ram speed or, you can try to keep it running with the same divider at higher speeds. Usually your ram will hit its speed cap long before your cpu overclock, so most likely you will either need to start using a bigger divider or lower the latencies on your ram. I would not try running this ram at 1T on the AMD.... I was able to run 1T at some speeds but it actually ran better at T2 at the same speed.

Here's a complete list of what the ram dividers will be depending on you CPU multi and fsb.
