Agonizingly Slow Wireless - LAN only

I'm having a curious issue with my wireless on my laptop. The laptop is a Sager 5165 that uses a Realtek RTL8188CE wireless NIC. I can surf the web, load heavy-content websites just fine - but whenever I try to interact with any other computers on my LAN, it is agonizingly slow.

Putty takes 5-10 seconds to connect to my server, and keystrokes are lagging by ~5 seconds as well.
File shares take about 5-10 seconds to enter a folder, and transfer rates are an abysmal 5KB/s. Seriously, 5KB.

The RTL8188CE is Wireless-N, and my drivers are the newest. My router is about 20 feet away on the floor above me, is a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND (Wireless-N as well) with the latest firmware. My fiancee's laptop has no issues with wifi speeds. Using my desktop I get normal read/write speeds to my server's file shares (via Samba on a Debian box) and Putty is as quick as it normally is (as if I'm sitting on the server's console itself).

The WiFi seemed to be a bit slow before, but nothing to terrible - I figured it was simple interference. However, with upgrading to SP1 (I just recently installed Win 7 a few days ago) it has gotten much worse.

Anyone have any ideas or experience with issues with this NIC? Took me forever to get it to work in Debian on a dual-boot, but in Linux it seems to work just fine.

Bump.

New info: this only happens when both my laptop and my sig rig are on the network at the same time. Sig rig has a static IP, and the hostnames are different so there should be no conflict of any kind.

Both the server and my sig rig are connected on the same switch - switch is unmanaged gigabit with a 24 gbps fabric. Laptop as said earlier is on WiFi provided by the router (Wireless N) which has gigabit LAN and connects to the switch over said gigabit LAN.

Ideas?
