XFX non- reference Radeon 4890 after-market cooling solutions?

Thread Starter
Both stock fans on my Crossfire setup have died within a month of each other. And while I successfully replaced the cooler and fan on one of the cards using an Accelero S1 with Turbo Mod, I am not able to use the same cooler for the other card due to the Crossfire setup. The cooler is simply too wide and blocks the Crossfire bridge from being attached. Realizing that I am under considerable size restrictions, I went out and got a T-Rad2 intending to put on one or two slim fans on it. Unfortunately, due to my card being non-reference, there are capacitors blocking one or two of the heatpipes. My options as I see it are to remove the capacitor or remove the offending heatpipes. These are obviously very drastic so I'm looking for other solutions. I still have the stock heatsink and fan so these can be fixed if anybody knows how. Can anyone offer any ideas as to a solution?

For reference, this is what my card looks like without the heatsink on and with the offending capacitors circled: http://imgur.com/jErRw

Thanks!

A Setsugen 2 might fit. Mine works great. The heat pipes come out much higher on the block and would likely clear those caps. And seeing how you have 2 X-fire fingers on the cards the cooler shouldn't get in the way. It's a single slot cooler so you only need 2 slots (including the card) Only problem with it that is monstrously "tall" It hangs over the top edge of the card a good inch or so depending where your die is. So make sure you have enough room between your side panel and the card.

Here is a shot of it installed on my 5770. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
