Help me choose x2.

I'm going to be purchasing a new video card in 3-4 weeks. I'm wondering what the best card I can get under $175 is.

The second question is.....What's the quietest aftermarket cooler I can get? Looking for sound over performance.

Well this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127593 is probably the best card in your price range, plus the Twin Frozer II is an amazing cooler, quiet and powerful. Price is $179.99 after MIR which is only $5 more than you say you want to spend. This is also a solid choice for the same price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121446 Take your pick!

Another vote for the GTX 560 Twin Frozr II.

I'm not against going a little bit higher (25ish) as long as the difference in the cards are significant enough.

Thanks.

Wait for the amd 7 series to come out in 2 weeks or so. The prices should come down.

If you must buy now then get this. 5870 http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=HD5870-1GB-PCIE-PB It kind of goes head to head with the 6950.

You could find a 5870 reference card for ~$150. It's faster than a 560ti.

As for the cooler, reference PCB opens up a world of possibilities.

Thanks.

Well the next step up in performance and price would be a HD 6950, but they are a little more expensive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161388
