i just buy 2 gtx 590 and i need answer - Page 3

I can't believe on 20 posts nobody asked him what is his power supply.

I see that the 8 pin might have been overvolted, which could be a power supply fault.

Definitely looks melted. IMO there is probably no hope for repair. Sorry....

Honestly speaking, it looks like the VRM's were overvolted, I don't see any other damage (it might be my old eyes playing tricks on me)

450

And that sure is a lot of TIM.

i m using 2 psu corsair cx 600 w v2 and ocz stealth X stream 2 600 w

so no problem about psu because already using 2 gtx 295 , and using the 2 psu on lot of gtx and ati croos/sli bench with no problem

and i didn't overvolted the first gtx when benching , i guess it's problem of temp that beak the gtx ! ....

btw how can i be certain that the the vrm's is dead or anything else ! and some one know how to enable just one gpu (i guess it's impossible cause of the the chip bridge NF200 )

The PSU you used on the that card was hotwired and not plugged into the motherboard?

GTX 590 needs at least a decent 650W (heck nvidia even recommends 700W minimum) and yes I do understand that real usage does not get close to there but still, I guess the problem lies at your PSUs. The Corsair unit seems fine to me but I highly doubt the OCZ could manage the job.

Fermi max temp is 105C, there's no way 82-83C would break the card.

i know that the gtx consume 350 w full load ore full stress 430 w fur mark , so no problem because already the ocz and corsair power over thane 470 w 112v

little link about ocz :
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/OCZ-StealthXStream-2-600-W-Power-Supply-Review/1058/8

so it's soooo enough !

so simply i plug the 2 pcie 8 pin of the corsair on it and the second gtx i plug the the pcie 8 pin and use adapter 6 pin to 8 pin on it so no problem about consumption !

about temp i guess it's not the temp gpu who break the card ... but the vrm's .... i really don't know where is the really problem of that

Well, let's go through this again:
_ You said you tested with 2 x GTX 295s and multiple SLI/CF before, so I assume there's no problem with cable/power setups.
_ You said you didn't overvolt, so VRMs can't be burned that easily.
_ As I said above, 82-83C is really high for watercooling, but no way it can break the card, so temp is not the problem.

After all of those deductions, the only cause I can think of is the PSUs.

The ASUS GeForce GTX 590 3GB video card requires a 700 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 50 Amps on the +12 volt rail
Source: legitreviews

Edit: I guess the Corsair with only 40A on its +12v rail is the main problem.
