[ITProPortal] Intel’s Upcoming 32nm 'Medfield' SoC Benchmarked

The specifications as well as the benchmark of Intel's forthcoming offering, the 32nm process Medfield SoC, have surfaced on the Web through back channels.

Intel's desire to break into the SoC (System-on-a-chip) market is no longer a secret. Almost everyone in the tech community is well aware of how the US based semiconductor giant is planning to enter the market in the coming year itself. With that goal in mind, the company recently merged 4 different business units in to one singular entity, named Mobile and Communications.

The giant cometh to ye olde mobile market.

This is the original news source at VR-Zone (ITProPortal directs to Tweaktown which directs to VR-Zone; the article in Tweaktown is poorly written, mainly because it's rewording the original so it's not entirely copy-paste).

OT: good news, it's about time. No release date yet though. According to the article should be soon though. It will be very interesting to see Intel competing in the mobile market. The competition is though, but those power consumption figures for a SoC are very good, considering that it's built on 32nm, and Intel has the 22nm card up it's sleeve to play later on.

If you read my post above you'll notice that I already posted the original source which is VR-Zone, which is the one upon which Tweaktown (the one you posted) is based.

As much as I would love to see Intel crush ARM, I remain skeptical for now.
