Medusa 5.1 and Creative X-Fi Xtrememusic subwoofer issue.

Okay for starters I've had both the card and the cans for a long time. I haven't had any issues with them in the past. Not long ago I stopped using my 5.1 surround speakers (which worked just fine) and switched to my Medusa's. These headphone used to have a lot of bass, which I enjoy, so much so that they would shake when you laid them down on the desk. I have yet to be able to get the subwoofer speaker to work. I have searched and searched google (even google uk!!) for issues. The only thing I can seem to find is the bass redirection button in the creative console. I have that selected and still to no avail. When I test the sound on all the speakers (Click the "noise" button) I hear on all the speakers except the sub. The center works just fine. I have installed PAX drivers, X-fi drivers for some other sound card, updated drivers, and older drivers. I can not seem to get the bass to play though that damn subwoofer!! To me is seems like the only difference in things that I have done since the original time I installed the X-fi drivers/software and had everything work was when I used the install CD. Which of course I don't have, it was like 5+ years ago cut me some slack lol! I've taken apart the inline amp box thing to see if there was a cut wire, and adjusted the turner dials from 0-10. Tried to plug the 3 plugs in differently. I also too apart the right ear housing to see if something came loose! Heck I even plugged it into my PS3, but that wouldn't work though since I have the adapter that goes from red-white to 3 plug-ins. I've been pulling my hair for a couple of days now and it just makes me mad. I really like these cans and don't want to replace them, but if their life is gone then I guess oh well...

So I'm hoping some audio junkie out there could point me in some direction on what to do with this issue, and sorry for the long post just needed to vent and explain!

Thanks thumb.gif

You even try the different bass redirection settings to0? Sounds like the bass driver in the headset went bad. If nothing else works.

Yeah I think it's dead too. Yeah I tried everything I found on the net. Is there a way to test the sub driver to see if it's not dead? I just really hate to put these down, they're like my little babies lol!
