e6300 + ds3 + thermalright ultra 120?? HELP!!

Thread Starter
hey guys, thanks for the support on my earlier issue. It turns out that the problem all along was due to screws at the bottom being misplaced, but also my computer technician said that it was the thermarlight 120's fault. I think it was because it was because the cooler was so heavy (745g) that it weighed down motherboard and caused probelm's, and now i'm running with stock (which is very hot).

I would like to know your advices on this, is this true? Or is it because I mounted the brackets wrong. I know some of you are running the cpu with the ultra 120, and I was wondering your experiences on it. or is it because I am not making contact with the cooler and cpu that is the problem? it shouldnt be because i am idling at the 35 C with the thermalright, and at 48 with the stock cooler.

745g is not exceptionally heavy for a cooler. With a good backplate, it should work fine.

I agree, there should be no problems with that cooler.
