Max Safe voltage with Corsair H100 + 2700K

Hey everyone,
First post here in Overclock.net. Really liking the helpfulness of everyone and the active community. biggrin.gif

Just a quick question:
How much voltage is "too much" for an Intel Core i7 2700K.

I am clocked @ 4.8GHZ running @ 1.39volts. Is this safe long term?
I would like to know as well....I was at 5.2Ghz earlier @ 1.488v with the temps and everything in order but I was told that that ammount of voltage was too much and that anything above 1.355v is too much and can cause the chip to wear down too quickly. I'm currently running my 2700k at 4.8Ghz @ 1.35v but I'm looking to get back in the 5s.

Myself would goto 1.45v max. But I'd only recommend 1.4v for 24/7 to others for safe operation.

I run my 2500K at 1.51v. 24/7. It's under water and the temps are absolutely excellent. >60C w/ Prime and >70C with LinX/IBT.

I suggest no more than 1.45v for 24/7 with any other cooling besides water. 1.4v if you want to even be "safer".

You should be fine mate, that is actually a decent voltage for that OC. thumb.gif

I've got my 2700K@1.38 volts running on water @4.8... Is this safe also?

Yeah, I'm currently at 5.0GHz @ 1.39v with LLC set to 100%. I think this is it. Everything is running perfectly. thumb.gif

Personally, I would run up to 1.5v as long as you can keep it cool. It is really whatever you are comfortable with.

There's no reason for anyone to run it that high....I personally have an H100 so the temps are well under control but even if I want to go to 5.2Ghz I only need 1.48volts. I'm at 5.0GHz at 1.39volts. It's considerably better for managing the longevity of the chip.

For people that constantly upgrade their chips this is irrelevant to them.
