Adding the BF3 game to Origin through transfer

Thread Starter
Evening all,

Alright so today I finally caved in and bought BF3 from Origin store since it's on sale. Problem is my internet is terribly slow for downloads so would take me at least 2 days to download it and I didn't particularly want to buy it in store because it's not on sale as much, so my mate suggested that I buy it online and copy his game files over to my computer and play it that way.

We've copied it exactly to the same folders and searched everywhere within origin for an option to add it but to no avail. We also cannot run it through the exe as it says the game is not installed.

Sure enough I shouldn't have thought it'd be so easy but I thought it'd be similar to Steam so now I ask, has anyone got ideas/ knowledge on how to get the game to install without discs or having to download it? Rather keen to finally get to play haha.

Cheers guys,
Vakten

If you copy the game files, that leaves your friends purchase information and missing reg values. It won't work. You need to Download it or run from a retail CD.

I was able to get it working, got my copy from my local lan cafe, "Local Area Gamers or "LAG" for short. you just have to, once you bought the game,

*add bf3 to your origin profile

*C/P the files into the "programfiles(86x)/origin games/battlefield 3" directory - If this file location doesnt exsist, make it.

*refresh your origin games via origin then click install on the bf3 game
Once thats done, it will recognize you have the Battlefield 3 installed and install the updates, then your set.
