PSP buttons not responding

Hey guys,

Was putting my psp back together yesterday after replacing the screen, and everything seemed alright then. New screen looks gorgeous, I can still connect to wifi, read memory card, etc. Everything seemed to check out, so I fired up Final Fantasy Tactics to finish off the last few fights. Lo and behold, I can't load my save. I'm not even sure what's going on. Everything in the XMB works, the game menu responds, and etc, but when I try to actually load the game it refuses to respond (I ripped Tactics to my memory card, so it isn't a UMD problem). I checked out another game, Birth by Sleep (also ripped), and the same issue. Only this time the dpad/analog was going crazy and scrolling up and down the menu indefinitely. At this point I figured that my memory card might be an issue, so I formatted it and tried again. Still stuck. I tried loading up a UMD (Chains of Olympus), but that had the same problem too! Everything works up until the game runs! mad.gif

So yeah, I have no idea what's going on. I tried everything, even replacing the modules for the dpad and input buttonn with spares I had. Absolutely nothing different. Any ideas guys?

If it helps, I'm running on LCFW Pro- B9.

Did you put the correct pads where they go? Did you put pads in there at all?

Yeah definitely, I double check everything before I reassemble the PSP. I tried again today, and actually managed to get into my save for War of the Lions (woo!), but of course it never is that easy. All the buttons were muddled up this time, Left on the dpad somehow triggered the left shoulder buttons and so on. I'm starting to think I managed to damage the motherboard somehow.

Now that I think of it, I had to press down really hard for the buttons to respond even while in game. I even tried the (terrible) psp browser to check if I could use the analog/dpad fine and if it was only a corrupted game or something. Nah, nothing, I had to push down on the dpad hard, and it only responded by going down/left from the top left corner of the browser. Any ideas?

Just to make sure, I went back and reassembled the whole thing again to see if I missed anything. Nope, everything is there, and plugged in correctly.

Doesn't really matter now I suppose, I just bought a shiny new Radiant Red PSP to sate my Tactics lust. redface.gif
