[GF] Morrowind Rebirth 1.5 Released! (DOWNLOAD LINK) - Page 11

If someone could do a huge overhall of the character models then i could see myself going back to it. But they just look even more out of place when everything around them is highly detailed.

Have you tried the mods Better Bodies and Better Heads? They don't quite make the character models current gen graphics, but they're a huge improvement over the regular graphics. Gone are the blocky segmented bodies and pixelated faces. smile.gif

The final version of 1.6 is out on my moddb page (http://www.moddb.com/mods/morrowind-rebirth). I've also added a list of graphic enhancers in the OP if you want your morrowind installment to feel an look awesome smile.gif

Feel free to start a new thread here in the forums for 1.6, I've got no idea how to do it.

Cheers!

I'd say so. Not sure if Skyrim can captivate me for as long as MW did. I spent about 400+ hrs on 1 character in that game.

That's what everybody says!
I haven't played any of them except for Oblivion 4, which only lasted about a minute because I couldn't get out of the jail.

lol ^ I didn't like Oblivion that much, played through it once and that was all that kept my interest.

Definitely, this. I went through and did the Morrowind 2012 mods, makes the game look great, but if you turned up every available option that would absolutely kill fps, even in a beastly machine.

Have you played Skyrim? I think at this point it is a toss up between Skyrim and Morrowind. Morrowind had so much more depth, more weapons, more skills in general, more magic schools, levitation and jumping spells (super fun!!). The landscape was very alien and cool to explore.

That being said combat was not always that rewarding, the game was not always really balanced (alchemy was really too powerful b/c you could spam potions) and Skyrim has really refined the actual play to be the most fun I think.

If they could release an Elder Scrolls game that had the play mechanics from Skyrim and the depth from Morrowind then I think we would be looking at the pinnacle of what TES could be. Unfortunately they are on a simplification kick so I don't know that we will ever see something like that.

I have to agree with a lot of your post. Skyrim has caught my eye much like Morrowind did before. Though the dumbing down and consolification(?) of the game really detracts from what Skyrim could have been. Luckily, mods should take care of a lot of the problems. Skyrim is just plain fun, and easy to get into. Unlick Morrowind, where you have to level up so many stats, and jump through hoops, etc, but at least when you are at end game in Morrowind all that grinding and leveling really feels like an accomplishment.

I do like the ease of leveling and perk system for Skyrim, but "back in the good ol days we had to walk uphill in both directions, while battling cliff racers, and spamming jump" biggrin.gif

I kinda missed the Athletics skill in Skyrim, I was wondering when I would be able to run faster, but I guess they just give you the speed outright + sprint. I reinstalled MW a while ago to replay through it, I had forgot running was practically a snails pace when you first start out haha.

Even though the graphics are dated Morrowind is still a fantastic game for RPGers.

Trance, could you give us a rough idea what order we should install all those recommended mods on your mod-db page?

Also, I've always had issues getting morrowind setup properly on a 1080p screen, what would you suggest to use?
