Overclocking (for the first time) i5 2500k with asus mb.. Shall I follow this guide?

Thread Starter
Got a ASUS sabertoth p67, youtubed overclocking and i found this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMZoWOpry40

Is it safe? Isn't 4.5k pretty damn high? I rather go with safe and a bit lower if this is to risky.. I heard something that you don't want to have to high voltage on something.. Really cluless here smile.gif. Just want some guide or settings to follow that are safe!

Also read a thread here where a user said these settings, are they good?

OC Tuner: Cancel/Off
CPU Ratio: Auto
Speedstep: Enabled
Turbo: Enabled

Make sure to manually set DRAM voltage, timings, and frequency. Good luck.

On another note, wich programs should I use to monitor stuff? CPU-Z only program I know!

Check out the sandy stable club

Read the guides.
You can ask your questions there and people will be likely to respond.

Easy way to start overclocking is to find out the highest multiplier your CPU can run at stock settings.
As soon as you BSOD, step down and try to stabilize the one that boots by testing with P95 and increasing Vcore until you stabilize.
After that, increase the multi and repeat until you think the voltages/temps are too high.

Basically you're aiming for the lowest Vcore necessary to produce the voltages your CPU needs to be stable at 100% load.
