New AMD FX Corsair themed build! H100+ 400r+HX750w

Starting my new build thread!

What I got so far is..
H100
400R
HX750w
LG Blu-Ray CD/DVD R/Rw
1tb Seagate 7200.12

450

Trying to decide on the hardware.

Ram is going to be 2x4gb CORSAIR Vengeance 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 @ 1.5v
Motherboard is most likely going to be an ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3

Need to decide if I want an 2500K + 60gb SSD (corsair force series 3) + ATI 6770
Or
2600k + ATI 6770

Torn, because I want the 2600k for future-proofing it, wont do another big build for another 2-3 years, but I REALLY want a small boot ssd.

awesome!!! camt.wait to.see pics!!!

also if ur primary focus is gaming then i would do the 2500K unless ur running heavy threded apps u wont need the extra threads from the 2600K

having an SSD boot drive is about the biggest, most noticable upgrade that u cam have (trust me i know lol)

Very nice build, can't wait to see the finished product.

I'd go with the 2500k undoubtedly unless you're doing video editing or rendering or tasks that take advantage of the hyper-threading technology. Also since you got an H100 I assume you'll be overclocking, and the 2500k will easily overclock to the same potential that a 2600k could.

Of course im oc'ing it!

I dont really play games much anymore, honestly its mostly browsing, and the occasional game. But, portal 2 and bf2 were able to be played on max on my old pc.

Main motivation is to have a future proof, reliable, and bulletproof rig.

With the products I bought today, the shortest warrenty is the case, at 3 years, and the longest the P/S, at 7 years.

The memory is also going to be corsair, as is the SSD if I go that way. Video card will probably be EVGA w/ their lifetime warrenty, and mobo, well ASRock is good, as is asus and gigabyte. Leaning towards the ASRock though.thumb.gif

Fixed! =)

Im def leaning towards the SSD + 2500k and buying a video card a few weeks down the road.

I dont mind using the on-board graphics temporary

Looks good but if you want to be future proofing wouldn't you be better of with a more powerful gfx card. You'd be better of with atleast a 6970 no??? If you are a gamer you'd want atleast that even for current games.

If you were originally going to get a 6770 for gaming, try to at least get a 6850.
