Ugh... Thought I read ripjaw somewhere so I didn't bother to look at the ram just the PSU GPU and CPU. Just send the ram back and pick up some corsair ram. As far as the OCZ PSU its fine there's nothing wrong with OCZ some people are just fanboys of certain brands.

Well if you just ordered it now why don't you just cancel the order?

Thanks for the offer on the ram, bro, but im gonna have to decline cuz i only have 2 slots and I still need 2x4, and also, thats a pretty good idea, I will ask them if I can just exchange it for a desktop set. Btw, redsun. what do you think of the build as a whole? Minus the laptop ram tongue.gif

Hey eagle, I would love to offer some suggestions on what to return/improve and you will be MUCH happier. For $900 you can build a great rig. Unfortunately to put it bluntly you kinda screwed the pooch on this purchase.
- First off the motherboard you ordered is not what you want, as you can see it has the H67 chip set which is NOT overclock-able. you will need the P67 or Z68 chip set. I suggest looking for an ASRock or ASUS motherboard with the P67 chipset. The ASRock extreme 4 gen 3 mobo is amazing, but the cheaper (I think ~110 price point) will be just fine.
- Second I realize you did the HDD for the optical deal, but you can get a 120gb SSD for that price and be WAY happier than owning a crappy low capacity HDD. If your interested in this I'll hook you up with a reference as well as any further advise you would like on any of the items I suggest.
- RAM you will probably want a Corsair or G.Skill 2x4gb 1600 cas 9 kit, look for 1.5v or lower as SB CPU's will work better with 1.5v or lower.
- On a good note that's not to bad of a GPU, but you may want to look at the OCN marketplace for a cheap similar performing card under warranty. If it doesn't work just RMA it and blam you get a brand spanking new one as GPU's are usually bound by serial number, not consumer registration. It makes for a MUCH cheaper solution to building a new rig.

I'll check back in soon, hope this helps. Returns suck, trust me I had to do a lot of them on my recent build. but having a product you aren't completely satisfied with for the next 2-4 years is even worse.

cheers.gif

the guy above me beat me to it.
looks good but you definitely need a diff mobo.
mobo is your platform its not something to cheap out on.
especially if you're overclocking.
and its MSI...look up the horror storries on those boards on here.

Well luckily I bought the mobo from a store, so Itll be an easy return. However, I would rather not replace the hard drive, so, if i go to microcenter, which motherboard do you suggest i get?
