Of course, I have more headroom than these clocks if I want it, but ... for a single card to be competing with my cards at their 24/7 clocks is very impressive indeed.
The texture fillrate and memory bandwidth on these cards are ABSURD ... I would go so far as to say ... that texture fill is probably WAY more than you'd ever need. Too bad the pixel fillrate is so much more pedestrian ... and I can't believe AMD is STILL only using 32 ROP's ... but at least they've gotten on the 384-bit bus bandwagon
All told, the fps #'s speak for themselves. The 7970 is one sweet card, out of the box it's keeping pace with the performance of SLI470's or SLI560ti's ... a most impressive unit.
How much are those going to be going for? And anyone know how much more 'cut down' the 7950 is going to be relative to this one?

That $640 price tag scares me though.. I'm hoping for it to be as close to the $550 announced price as possible. It'll probably be more up here in Canada though.
The red accents on the card throw off my entirely black and blue colour scheme though.. maybe a paint job is something I'll be doing tongue.gif

It will be $549 for a 7970 once it retails in USA.

It's likely going to be based on the same design with, according to here, some shaders cut:

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157495

Like 5870 to 5850. I'd expect it to perform like a 580 at 28nm. It's said to be more relative than the 7970 due it's price/performance.

So it looks like Zpaf isn't going to tell where he got his Sapphire HD 7970? Doesn't want to get other people in trouble most likely wink.gif.

ITS OVER 9000!!!!11!!!

This is a very similar GPU score to what I get with my SLI470's at my 24/7 clocks of 700/835. Impressive that a single card can now match up with these bad boys. Of course I can hit almost 11K if I wanna crank the volts and clocks way up, but then they get rather hot and loud, so ... I rarely do.

These 7970's are very nice, I must say.

Yeah I dont think these cards are available yet. Especially Sapphire 7970's. Here is an article out posted today about sapphires plans with the 7970 so I am pretty sure that this post is impossible unless someone would like to show some proof???

http://legitreviews.com/news/12111/

And this article shows no cards that have the clock speeds that you are stating. The one closest to what you say your card is 1125Mhz / 5600Mhz.

Proof???

We keep asking but no one's sharing.

Where is the proof that these are for sale. The link for the 7970 on ebay or for a reference and not a sapphire.

Please show the proof...

Proof??????
