Sure is a cool idea. I'd like to see more.

However, I'm not sure if TSA would allow something like this on the airplane, especially when there's liquid in it.

Thread and project title really seem to be lacking in the common sense area. I can't imagine how many warning lights and buzzers went off the moment you submitted those. Enjoy being on those watch lists.

Yeah, probably so....I guess what would hold me back from that is being able to boot into OSX. AMD based systems can be tough to get working nicely with OSX86. Besides, I'm happy with what I have, I just need it to be a little more portable.

@all -- thanks for the concern, but there is a 0% chance of me being bothered by TSA so let's just put that one to bed...

Ever Onward!

I've removed the MB tray / PCI ports from the old case and have some thoughts on how to mount them in the Suitcase Nuke....
The original case had zero room for cable management so the added width should provide just enough room to keep things tidy.

@septro - Thanks for the support!

Ok, last update for a few days, headed out of town early tomorrow sans Suitcase Nuke....

Motherboard tray and rear panel are installed. Now the frame feels rock solid. I also slapped in an old PSU, MB, and GFX card to do the reality check on the alignment of everything. So far so good. Now it's time to think of where I need to cut out areas for cable management and decide on switches and/or USB ports, etc...

SCNUKE14.jpg

Looks like there will be enough room for a 120mm exhaust fan in the back so I'm thinking of putting the radiator back there and using 3x140mm fans for the front. I'd like to keep all the other sides clean and sealed if possible, but I'm not sure if that will be enough venting in the rear to keep things cool.
