Heh, yeah. I should probably get around to do the rig builder thing.

Anyway, in a nutshell:

GTX 670 2gb w/314.22 drivers
i5-3570k@4.5ghz
8gb DDR3
1200p monitor

Vsync is off in game, forcing through control panel (not using adaptive). I did increase the memory pool in the config file to 1024, as was suggested somewhere.

Easily hit the max mem. on my 680 Lightning, besides a heavily modded Skyrim.

Okay, you and I have very similar setups. Good call dropping vsync off in-game and enabling it through the control panel. This helped keep my FPS a bit more stable. Did you try this mod as well?

Navigate to %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config\.
Locate and open file XEngine.ini in text editor (notepad for example).
Locate option bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=True and change its value to False.

Give that a shot if you haven't already. I *really* think the dips in FPS have something to do with where the next map is loading/rendering.

Not impressed with the optimization for this game, and why isn't there a Benchmark tool so it can show you which settings are the best for your rig? Was this game suppose to be competing against Crysis 3 for most demanding pc game for Ultra and High graphics? biggrin.gif

I'm still confused on what I have to update on my rig since these newer games are taking a massive dump on my gtx 570 and Amd Phenom II x4 965 3.4ghz setup. The games thus far this year have beaten up on my rig and shown no mercy. I haven't played Crysis 3, but I'm sure that game beats up on my computer too.

And my spacebar button is messed up on my keyboard and that makes me mad.gif

Since I'm not made of money, I don't know whether gpu or cpu update would tbe the best for me to get much better performance in gaming. I think gpu because I believe I was told cpu rarely is used in games unless it's something intensive with a lot of enemies on screen such as starcraft II. I don't play star craft II tho.

there is a benchmark for infinite. when you press play in steam you either play the game or play the benchmark.

Everyone having FPS issues... With my Rig I never see less than 100 FPS while playing, yes cut scenes seem to drop as low as 60, but who cares about the cut scenes? Plus 60 FPS is still smooth.

Very strange since we are on very similar setups. Same memory and GPU too. Hmmpf, I don't get it either.
