Tried the 1999 mode, felt the same as the other modes.

Enemies die on a headshot with pistol and yeah, same damage kind of.

A useful performance gain for anyone who still has some stutters or frame dips every now and then. Turning Dyanamic Shadows from Ultra to Very High looks virtually identical, but net me about 25 extra fps in some areas and practically eliminated any type of hitches from my game. I took screenshots and they really looked identical.

I wouldn't even be able to tell you which one is on very high or ultra.

For Nvidia users, in your sli profile compat bits in Nvidia inspector change to 0x0C1902F5 you will get much better performance, got a 20% boost in fps in my case, saw it in the neogaf forums.

Yeah, and I haven't seen one person with a 7950/7970 complaining about performance issues either. Nvidia is really letting ATI ruin them lately. When people with a GTX 680 are complaining about performance issues, then you know you have a problem with the game and graphics card. Isn't a GTX 680 more powerful than a 7970, well atleast it's suppose to be but I bet it's not in this game or in Tomb Raider. biggrin.gif

As far as PhysX, in old interview with the devs, They said that it would support it, but on the GPU. So it was implemented in different ways than the pretty particle effects it creates for other games.

680vs7970... more recent benchmarks with newer drivers show that they are basically on-par with each other. For the most part though... on paper, the 680 is more powerful.
