The game has some horrid optimization issues. I don't think it's CPU bottlenecks or GPU bottlenecks anymore, it's outlandisly bad in some areas. To those who beat the game, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say this. Go to the lighthouse section, the first time you come to it with the stars. Walk too the door, walk away. if you are running fraps, you'll see what I mean. I can look away from the door (right next to it), 60fps, look at the door, 30fps. Walk away from the door and look at it, 60fps. Kinda odd no? They screwed up vsync and loading, pretty bomb tastic too. Anyways, patches should fix that up nicely and it is a recent release. I think they have issues rendering certain things, dunno exactly what I'd have to mark down every are it dips. Don't care too, just during areas where I'd get screwed in FPS I dropped it to 1360x768 and it worked fine. That's what I did the first play through, and the second (mostly). Cause I have to have vsync on, tearing is fugly.

I have tried all of the suggestions mentioned by that "Calvin Klein" guy and none of them fixed the "between map stuttering" issue.
I too, cannot understand how they cant possibly reproduce this and how it DOES NOT happen on ANY of their test machines when most of the player experience this issue.

Doesn't happen on my machine. Going through my second playthrough now.

Horrible optimizations. Stutters when the gpu nor the gpu are fully loaded. Reminds me of the new vegas day of crappy optimization.

Please fix soon! I cant stand having a beast rig that eats any demanding game alive, but this bioshock cartoon wont ulitilze my hardware properly.

Also.....

I really don't appreciate all the people that are like;

"my microwave runz teh game no problem don't know whatz wrong with your stupidface computer"

That isnt helping anyone, and just makes everyone who is having a problem have to read through 20 pgs of that crap.

I'm almost done with the game and also haven't experienced any stuttering at all. The only tweak I used was for for, while settings are on ultra and post processing at alternate. Today I tried turning off ambient occlusion in game and setting it to high quality in Nvcp using inspector. Frame lock is off in game and adaptive vsync is set also. Beyond that the game looks and runs excellent. I'm not quite sure what the loading everyone is talking about, when I leave an area it does go to a loading screen for about 1-2 seconds, feels pretty much instant. The game is running on my SSD and I do notice vram is always just about 2gb. One thing I noticed in the beginning of the game was there were areas that seemed to suck down vram and others where I noticed it hitting my cpu hard while monitoring from my phone. However it didn't transpire into any stuttering effects.

I have been getting decent FPS at best, one thing I just noticed is I get the same FPS at both High and Very Low presets (havent tried other presets or custom settings).

Any suggestions to fix this?

I'll go ahead and ask the stupid question. Is the Framerate Lock (Vsync) on?

Also, this game uses something called framerate smoothing which caps the framerate to just over 100 FPS. You can either disable it entirely or change the min and max fps.

I have vsync off. I don't know about this other 'feature' you are discussing but if it is important I will look into it.

I realized I had no paging file as I turned it off when I thought my HDD was acting funny, turned that back on and increased performance in high stress areas a bit, but its still lower than what I would ideally like.

How do I mess with these settings to ensure I get less screen tearing? Any way to avoid screen tearing without enabling vsync in game? I even tried adaptive vsync forced via nvidia control panel but it doesnt work.
