Anyway it worked I don't seem to be getting error messages or crashing anymore! Thanks! biggrin.gif + rep to everyone.

Only drive C, the page file is for the whole system, you don't need a page file for each drive. thumb.gif

As far as I know, the only way to have no pagefile is to explicitly turn it off.

Though, you would have known if you had done that... and its quite obvious from the way you mentioned you had no clue what we were talking about when we first asked about it, that this can't have been the case.

So, my best guess is some "optimization" tool that you *may* have run turned it off.

You can set it to how ever much you want... With more than 1GB of RAM, by default it will be the amount of RAM you have. But chewing up 6GB on your SSD for the pagefile is a bit silly, so 2GB is plenty of room for virtual memory reservations and process working set swap outs.

Somebody maybe disabled it for you, the Windows installation enables the Page File by default.

As tompsson said, a Total memory of 6GB+2GB is plenty, that error message was to tell you that you was near your previous 6GB limit, the trick is to set the pagefile @ the max memory space you need + 1GB.

I told you 2GB as a safeguard for the future because generally newer programs each more memory with time.

How many HDDs are you running aside from the SSD? I don't want to jump on your PSU as 650W should be enough, check your +12v rail for amps but it should be fine. Try running Memtest to make sure your ram is still good, 6GB should be plenty as well.

Maybe if you read the thread you would see that we already solved the issue. smile.gif
