SSD Configuration for o/s, Pagefile, and gaming question.

Well. I'm overhauling my pc at the moment, new mobo, cpu, psu, gpu, etc etc. SSD is a Must for myself, (we're all overkillers right) but i'm interetsted in what you guy think is the best setup. I'm using an ASUS Sabertooth p67 mobo. has 2 stat3 (6gb/s) ports. My os and games will be on ssd's, back up etc on a WD 2tb caviar. Cutting to the chase, which way would be better?

1:
240gb SSD (will hold OS, games, Progs etc.) Solo.

2:
240gp ssd (will hold os, games, progs etc. AND
60gb or less SSD on second port for dedicated pagefileing.

3:
60-90 gb OS ONLY and possibly some programs (small) AND
120/240gb ssd dedicated for games and major applications

i appreciate any honest insight with this. probably a stupid question i'm sure. But just trying to get the most out of the system. Thanks in advance.

I honestly wouldn't bother with a 2nd SSD for games and apps, as they really only affect loading times.
While this can be useful for a few titles, like WoW, the majority of games won't benefit.
I just use my 60GB SSD for my OS and a few low impact programs like browsers.

Well, Windows 7 only takes up ~7-15GB. And programs will take up ~ another 20GB on average total. Then games take up ~5-15GB each.

I'd go with option one. You will have plenty of space for what ever. Tho it is not needed.

A 60GB drive can easily hold a OS, all your programs and 2-3 games. Then the rest can go on your HDD.

to answer the question of why? for a dedicated ssd for page file. Iirc, it was better if you had a second harddrive, to set your pagefile system to secondary, instead of everything through the first drive? if this was correct, that's what i was trying to do with the dual ssd setup. BUT, apparently, it's not the case here :0 i appreciate the help!!!

You don't need a dedicated ssd for a pagefile. Set it to 512mb minimum and maximum on your boot ssd and then forget about it.

Option #1 is what I'd be doing. For games in addition to os and programs, 240gb is the sweet spot.

hehe, yea, with SSDs just set the pagefile to a min/max like mcg75 said.
