X1600PRO better then it seems?

Thread Starter
Hello, this is a follow up-type thingy from the thread about my friends Bday present. I got this X1600 for him. I plugged it in my system, fired up BF2.. and guess what, it played BF2 fine on all high, AA2x, and 1024x1200.. 100fps. I payed $80 for the X1600 and $300 for my 7900gt. Is this card more powerful then people give credit to?

If this card is this fast, i guess im going to ATI next round...

The card is very under rated. I got the HIS tech version of the X1600pro and could run any game I threw at it with ease except for F.E.A.R., I had to run that at medium settings. I credit it to be one of the best cards I ever bought.

I liked the card, but remember this DO NOT OVERCLOCK THE RAM on that card. It's DDR2 and already running at it's max specs, I burned the ram on my X1600Pro with a 10mhz overclock and had to RMA, took 13 weeks to get the bloody thing back. The Core will do about a 100mhz overclock on it, just bump up the fan speed to 100% as the card runs quite hot

btw this was the Sapphire version

I would say its pretty underated, I use two of 'em and love 'em they play every game with ease. But have a hard time with benchmarking it seems.

I have two of the GDDR3 one's. There is also a HIS version however it only has 128mb not 256mb. These things are OC'd to XT speeds.

I would say it competes with the 7600GS, however two 7600GS' would beat out two x1600PRO's.

I actually own a 7600GS also its a OEM card and I just dont card for Nvidia really the card I got doesnt OC worth a damn, I cant get above 401 on the RAM and 550 on the processor. I am liking ATi very much and plan to stick with them for a very long time.
