PC is restarting

Thread Starter
I have a feeling its because of the OC but not sure how its related. I am having the issue with the rig in the sys specs. Temps are always below 65C, and I am clocked at 600/1600: stock 560/1400, I was thinking voltage as in not enough to be stable at that clock speed. If you guys can point somethings out that may help I would appreciate it and by the way I am using the 91.47 drrivers.

When is it restarting? When it's just sitting idle or running GPU intensive apps?

I think you figured it out right there... The P4P's have some serious vdroop. Look up a faq on modifying it to avoid the vdroop. I expect after you vdroop protect the motherboard you'll be able to get more than 3.6 Ghz out of it, nothing to lose!

I could end up losing my MB I ahve the trimmer right here set and ready to go but am a bit sketchy. Does anyone here have a link to a 7600gt AGP vmod or bios update? One last thing I read that using coolbits and other software to OC the VC can be bad because @post it is at stock speed, when windows loads it jumps to the OC speed how true is this.

Well it has happened once while gaming and twice now while surfing the web. What could this possibly be, less than 65C and restarting my pc what gives? I can use nibitor to flash the BIOS and up the voltage 0.05v will that help do you think? Ahh I don't know not the best at OCing VC but I am pretty good at OCing CPU's lol.

Just a thought it ca'nt be my PSU could it it's about 4 months old and has 4 rails I can't imagine that it the PSU.

I could really use some help here fellas it's not just gonna go away lol, and how is it that 25 ppl look at the thread but onlt 2 post oh well nvm. I played farcry for about an hour and all went well, even while just surfing the net and posting replies it restarted on me huh. I read that these drivers are very good, stable drivers so not sure as to how they effect this issue, and my temps like I said seem very good. I put some AS5 on both the HSF and the bridge HS still waiting for it to cure of course. I will be ordering a Zalman VF700 and a better bridge HS from zalman also. Thanks for any and all replys later.

EDIT: I Believe that I fixed the problem. I was poking around my device manager and noticed that the VC drivers that I installed (91.47) were not there. The drivers posted were 91.32 although when in the NV control panel the drivers there were the 91.47 drivers. I removed the .32 drivers in the device manager and booted to safe mode and ran Driver Cleaner Pro about 4 times, booted to windows and installed the 91.47 drivers. My AQ3 score went up 11K and my 3d05 score went up about 900 points, as for the reboots its too soon to tell but I will post back tomorrow.

Ok it restarting still so I have to say it is not a driver issue this time at leasst not the same one anyway. I have been turning the clockes down a bit each time it restarts well at least the core clock. I didn't have any problems untill I swapped out VCs from my mx4000 to this 7600GT. I guess that I still need help on this one. I already made a new bios but I haven't put it on yet as I haven't gotten the Zalman YET. My temps get to 70 MAX I have ever seen so far so should it be safe to just go ahead and flash it with a higher voltage.

Keep in mind that this does it in games and internet it may do it any second but at complete random no set amount of time on before hand. Any suggestions are helpful so bring it on fellas I'm all ears.
