I have the headphone jvc rx-700 + stand microphone and it work pretty well for me.
But the jvc rx-700 are pretty ugly and huge...
With an amp (cheap and old amp) I can easily have similar sound to 100$ headphones for very less of their cost
You can look here, my journey to the JVC
http://www.head-fi.org/t/576270/best-budget-headphones-for-canada#post_7831397

Also, the stand mic that I own is very inexpensive and it work pretty well as my friend say. No mather were I am in my room, people can hear me.
I own some Chateau microphone that I bought from an electronic local store for 7$

Hmm, the rx700's seem decent and can be had for around $40 it seems. How are they compared to the SR850's?

Much better sound stage on the RH600s. They're the poor mans AD700s. They won't offer you any bass though compared to the SR850s.
