OK thanks. I just wanna make sure coz I'm afraid what CM rated this unit. I'm just afraid that 400W is the peak output of the power supply. I don't need an efficient power supply as the electric bill is not paid by me tongue.gif One thing of note though, I need one PCI-E 6-pin adapter if I were to run a 460 with my current power supply as it only has one 6-pin PCI-E adapter. Is this good or bad?? Sorry I'm terrible when it comes to power supplies tongue.gif

I wanna ask just how much wattage do I need to power up the rig in my sig with the 9500 GT switched to a GTX 460. I've tried five power supply calculators online. One says I need 573W, another one says I need 383W, yet another one says I need at least 450W, one says I need 492W, and the other one says I need 550W.
My CPU is overclocked to 4.6 with 1.305 vCore in the bios. Right now I'm leaning towards the one which recommends 492W, as my CPU and the 460 alone would easily consume more than 383W. I'm not sure on this though, that's why I'm here to ask. Thoughts??
Edit: Also, I'd like to overclock the 460 to at least 810MHz.

a good 500 watt PS will work fine. I ran a 4870 and a q9550 @4.08ghz on a rosewill 450watt PS for half a year in my secondary rig. PS still works fine, just using something better now.

As I said in previous posts, there really isn't much option here at my place. I pretty much only have three brands, one being generic, and the other two aren't that great too (CM and Xigmatek), so no Rosewill.

rosewill makes solid PS for the price. If your looking to get a new power supply that will last for less then thats the power supply to get. Otherwise get a tx850 or something.

How about something like this coolermaster eXtreme power plus 550?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171038

It is coolermaster and already has two PCI-E 6+2 so you can run the 460 without adapters, as well as being more than enough power for your system smile.gif

I'll consider that too. RM180 ($60) is not too much for me. But I'll see how things go.

I said this and I'm gonna say it again, Rosewill is NOT available at my place. I'm pretty much stuck with either an E-Max (generic), or a CM, or a Xigmatek. TX850 is overkill and I don't have the money to buy thatand even if I do, I can't because it's not available in my place.

I know what you mean, but in the end as someone above said, the power supply is the most important part of your PC.
Also, if you get a smaller powersupply you will then have to fork out a bit more money for the adapters for the 460, making it much more viable and cost effective to get the bigger power supply which will still be enough to power any future GPU upgrades you wish to make.

I believe 460's usually come with power adapters. And it will be a LONG LONG time before I make my next upgrade. By the time I make my next upgrade, everything will be totally different and I'll have unlimited budget.
