I would agree with the previous posts, the CM 550w would work great for you. CM is not the best brand psu, but better than alot of generic brands. The 550w(if not to much where you are) would give you some headroom, so after overclocking you still wont come close to pushing it to hard.

The 460w will also work for your rig, but if you would be much closer to the limit of the psu. I have always found piece of mind knowing ther is no chance of an overload, and room to add to the system.

At this point on time, I'm really considering the 550W.

But I'm still considering. tongue.gif

So the decision has been made! I'm shelling out the RM210 (about $70 in the US) for the Extreme Power 550W! Thanks to everyone for the help! +Rep and mods, please close this thread!

You don't seem to understand much and you're following poor advice... the Extreme Power 550W is a trashy Seventeam unit, and it can't deliver 550W(it burned below full load during the HS review).. while the Elite Power you already have is not much better, it can at least deliver it's rated output while keeping regulation in check, and Gabe @ Hardware Secrets managed to overload it to about 420W where it gracefully shut down, showing that the implemented protections work... now, the unit returns appalling efficiency figures(73% at full load), but offers far better electrical performance than the Extreme Power 550W, and it is enough for you system...
You're throwing money away with that Extreme Power 550 unit.

Thanks for the catch tongue.gif I just saw the review on HS that this 550W unit is a discontinued 500W unit from Seventeam. But are you totally sure that my unit is able to power even a stock 460 with an overclocked-to-4.6 2500K?? I'm going with the MSi Cyclone OC edition of the card by the way which is factory-overclocked to 725MHz core.

I think I'll just buy the 460 and install it in my rig and test if it works first. If it doesn't then I'll revert the CPU to its stock speeds and hold off on overclocking until I get a powerful enough unit.

Again.. if it isn't enough, the system will simply shut down.. nothing is at risk, that's what you don't seem to understand... get the VGA, put it in and run some benchmarks(Unigine for example), if it shuts down you'll know you need a new one.. there's no point in buying trash, much less to replace a presumably under powered unit before you actually test it out and make sure it really is insufficient wink.gif

Yea I'll do exactly just that. If it's not sufficient then I'll just run the CPU at stocks speeds and see how things go. If it's still not enough then I'll shell out more money to buy a better unit. Maybe going further from my place to get something much better.
