nice, yeah don't listen to windoze! run some benches to make sure you are stable, i like cinebench for a quick temp test.

ok so here is a pic what the bios is telling me for settings.
i still need to prime it and see what is going to happen but atleast it boots up:p
if i wanna go higher after prime proven it to be stable i only need to play with the cpu clock ratio right? and possibly up the cpu voltage a little
time to prime now, you guys think half hour prime is good enough for stable?
IMAG0385.jpg 3177k .jpg file

edit: ok now im going crazy
i always used performance test7 to see how well my computer scored.
just run it without problems but my score is avarage of 400 points lower as before i started the oc:s
any one has a idea why thats happening? Knipsel.PNG 197k .PNG file
before the oc when i did 5 tests they all where above 2408 where 2508 whas the lowest of 5 runs before the oc

well it depends on who you ask....lots of OCNers will recommend 24 HOURS of prime before calling it stable!

bump your HT link down, you want to keep that as close to 2000 as possible, change to 9x as thats 1980

change northbridge to manual, as you progress your OC you may need to bring it up/down

change pcie clock from auto to 100mhz

main this is watch dem temps! thumb.gif

Lower the multi down a notch and bump the FSB up a little. Your CPU/NB frequency is too low, bump it to 2500 Mhz atleast and increase DRAM voltage to 1.65.

2-3 hours of prime will be enough.

Strange question but why should the ht be as close as possible to 2000?
Be default its already setted to 2200 by gigabyte:s
Will change it to youre recommendations though as you know more tgen me about it:)
Btw thanks for helping me out, its highly appriciated.
Atm prime is already running for ten min and it shows max temp of 54c for 3 cores and the other 3 at 53c.
And its sitting arround at those temps

to get him to 2500 he'll need 250 which didn't boot for him earlier...

but yes, try 225*17.5, 230*17 etc and keep that HT link @ ~2000

bear in mind you just threw a setting I gave you that gives ~4ghz...you need to fine tune smile.gif (i went for 220*18 to begin with as it's not increasing the FSB by a lot to get 4ghz)

edit: it is 2k by default, by increasing the reference clock from 200 to 220 its upped it as the default multi is x10, increasing ref clock increases the speed of the whole board

+ nice temps thumb.gif

+ no problem mate, this is what OCN is all about cheers.gif

To get to 2500Mhz, the OP can bump up the CPU/NB multi. If not in the BIOS, then using AOD.

It needs to be close to stock because increasing the HT link gives no performance increase and adds instability, if nothing more.
