Will it run?
I now play it at:
1280x720 (I think)
Low - Medium Settings
Without Lag

With that setup you could easily run 1920x1200 on high. *With MSAA off*

Hi guys,
I want to build a new rig for BF3, but not sure what spec would be best. I was thinking about going AMD at first, but when I saw it in tests (compared to Intel) I'm afraid I'll end up with another ****. My current PC (should be displayed below) is a total crap when it comes to BF. That's why I was thinking about this spec:
1. Intel Core i7 2600K Unlocked, S 1155, Sandy Bridge, Quad, 3.4GHz, 8MB Cache, HD3000 IGP 850Mhz, 34x, 95W, OEM
2. Asus P8Z68 DELUXE, Intel Z68, S 1155, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, RAID SATA, PCIe 2.0 (x16), ATX
or
Asus P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3, Intel Z68, S 1155, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, SATA RAID, PCIe 3.0 (x16), ATX
3.8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance Blue, DDR3 PC3-14900(1866), Non-ECC Unbuffered, 9-10-9-27, XMP, 1.50V
4. I want to keep my GPU - 1GB Asus GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II TOP, 40nm, 4200MHz GDDR5, GPU 900MHz, Shader 1800MHz, 384 Cores, 2x DL DVI-I/ mini HDMI
5. and my PSU should be good enough for the new rig - OCZ 700W
6. I was thinking about new case too, but can't decide which to buy. Any suggestions on that?

All I want is to play on all High settings with no lag, simple smile.gif

Well first off we (at least I) cannot see a rig in your signature. For processor go with the i5 2500K (there is no gaming improvement with an i7) you'll save $100 right there. For board that Asus is great, I have the P8Z68-V Gen 3 and its great, again you can save yourself a few bucks by going with that one. Good RAM is a dime a dozen just make sure you get 8gb or more, people with 4gb struggle with BF3. Your GPU and power supply are perfectly fine, you can stick with those and maybe add a second 560Ti later for SLI and really whip on some BF3. Case is completely up to you, Make sure you get something big enough with good airflow to accommodate big graphics cards.

Thanks Jayjr1105. I have heard about i5 being as good as i7 (and saved money can be spent on second GPU smile.gif ) As for RAM I was thinking at least about 8gb and adding another 8gb later. As for the case I'll go with the Coolermaster HAF X, Black, Full Gaming Tower Case inc Side Window (seems to be reasonable).

As for my current rig:
1. AMD Phenom x4 9950 black edition
2. Asus M3N78Pro
3. Kingston HyperX 4gb (800MHz)
4. Thermaltake Soprano Vx case
