AM3 Foxconn Aloe unlock?

Thread Starter
Hello! I don't know if it'd be safe, but I want to try and unlock my bios for my (HP Manufactured) Foxconn Aloe motherboard, as it currently has the multiplier for my AMD 965 Black Edition locked. All I want is the extra 400 MHz to get it to 3.8 instead of 3.4 GHz.

This would be in efforts to save myself $200 for a new motherboard and copy of Windows 7, and I'm wondering if it's really worth it. But if I must get a new motherboard, what does the future look like for the AM3+ socket type? Would you think AMD would release a new (and better) chip for the socket?

You can get a new mobo and keep the same Windows install. But as for the rest of the question, i dont know.

What do you mean I can keep the same Windows install? I thought that because I have an OEM HP machine that I had to purchase a new copy of Windows if I changed the Mobo.

Did you ever figure out a bios mod? I have the same board.

No you don't. If windows gives you problems with the new board you select "register per telephone". Then follow the instructions given.
