Oh, nice. Yeah, I got the OEM Diamond one on Newegg's Black Friday sale.. I love it. My monitor is 1366x768, so it will beast anything. Every game i've tried I can max out fully and keep 50+ FPS smile.gif

Like a boss.

Yeah the 4gb's memory on these cards makes them beastly, honestly if the scaling/tesslation was better on them, they would likely be in the running for one of the fastest cards in the world more competetively.

Yeah. They sold a 4GB version.. But now they aren't manufactured anymore.. I wonder if, a HD 5970 base memory is 2GB. The step up is 4GB. So if a HD 6990 base memory is 4GB, doesn't that make the step up 8GB? Lol, 8GB Graphics card..

Honestly if I had the money to blow I'd run dual 5970's BE's, just for the video memeory. My dual 5850's are a little crowded with 1gb a piece for some games. The 4gb was a limited run, I think 500, or 1000 cards only, and only sold through newegg.com. My buddy has a 6990, the 4gb ram is nice, it keeps the card from getting bogged down before it should a lot. They didn't do a limited run with the 6XXX, I think because there wasn't really any drastic improvements, and nvidia countered with the 580 sli Mars 2 cards. AMD is set for a 7990 BE card to blow nvidia out of the water. At least for a few months....

Dual HD 5970 BEs would be a beast. I would love to try that out. I can't seem to imagine one thing though. Just one. Running 3 HD 7990s in Hexa-Fire, and checking the FPS while playing Minecraft. LMAO!
Seriously though, that would be sweet.

Hexa fire? lol, the only way to check if the base memory on the 5970's is 4GB (2GB per GPU) is to crack it open and check it out =] thats wut i did on my 5830 (along with cleaning the cooler) i personally think that 1GB video card memory is no longer enough... GTA 4 needs at least 2 GB memory to max out -_- hopefully in the future they will make it so that in crossfire mode the GPU's share memory
