@Jaxlb - if you havent yet bought them......

I bought a set of the d1080mkII 08s from the Australian distributor ~May last year - and LOVE THEM.
In comparison to my headphones (Shure SRH-440) and previous speakers (Logitech X-530s) they are awesome.
The only gripe i have with them is bass - its tight and punchy - but you dont get the low rumbling much from them......which is good and bad depending on what you want.
For things like movies i hook up my X-530s sub to them also and its a great setup.

Thats my opinion of them - when i bought them i went to the distributer as i said - and i auditioned them, the M200mkIIIs and some other sets of Swans that were there. for their price they are very very good - even compared to the m200mkIIIs, they only lack in the bass area (as mentioned) - but other than that they are hard to distinguish.

Thats from personal opinion - as an aside i do sound engineering for church etc - so im not "lay" in the quality stakes smile.gif
From what ive read - they are better than the A2s too, however i cannot comment directly having not heard them

for a size reference:
qmT05.jpg

those are 1920*1200 24" screens.
Picking up a new cable from the distributor on Friday i hope (stock cable is too short....hence the boxes in my pic) - will go have a nice listen to the $25k speakers they have setup at the showroom tongue.gif

let me know if you want any further info smile.gif

Yes you are right, the swans are bigger then the A2's for pretty much the same price...

Reason being is they are not as good lol..

With that said the Swans are still super nice and if you plan on getting a sub soon anyway the swans + sub probably would be better then just A2's so all in all with what you had in mind even though it pains me to say it (my A2's are crying right nowlol) I think you made the right choice!

Well actually in my indecisiveness I got the A2s cause I would of had to use someones visa cause I don't have one and cause I wanted to save some space.
I'll probably get a sub one day and the speakers sound great compared to the X530s so I'm happy.

oh yea - from my x530s....awesome.
look at setting up just the sub from the 530s too - it can help in things that you want the deep muddy bass it provides (games/movies etc)
Just use the orange plug on them.

Just use the orange plug on them.

I would connect the sub but you need to have the right speaker plugged into it to plug it in cause the jacks come from the speaker not the sub. frown.gif

Tried it with just the subs plug plugged in and it didn't work. So using my X530's sub is out not that I'm fussed about that.

use tthe sub with mine so i know it works.
Orange plug in computer along with the new speakers. Need the front speaker plugged into the sub for power and volume.
Next check your sound output settings.
The way I run it is with a 3.5mm double adapter. :-)

Yea I tried that but it wouldn't work for some reason. I changed the settings and everything but it didn't work. I don't really care about not having a sub at the moment I'll probably buy a better sub when I get some of the furniture out of my room that is cluttering it up at the moment.

Oh and here's a pic of the setup with the speakers though it isn't that great quality and it's dark.
