Interesing. I can reach 4.8Ghz @ 1.39v (H80) though 1.38 is appears more stable..
Hmm.. Perhaps it's time to put this baby under water? And build my first liquid cooled rig?

I could get 4.2GHz at 1.32 and when I upped the multi to 44x I just shot the voltage to 1.45 (this morning) so I haven't tried trimming it back. I prolly won't, might just keep upping the multi and see where it goes from there.
Not too concerned tbh as I'm getting a chilled loop set up when doing my PC-in-a-Desk build in a few months time, so I can live with my current OC. FOR NOW!

Cool, make sure you start a build log in he Water section thumb.gif

It really is, but the CPU also has 3x 560 rads dedicated to it. Don't want to risk getting a worse one

Sweet.. One would thought you should beable to reach 4.4Ghz at stock voltages. It worked when I used a TR HR-02, temps hovered aroun 60C though (AI Suite) then i found out it's off frown.gif Could be 80C for all i know.. mad.gif

I'm still tinkering around with it. This Microsoft cert I have to do for work is literally sucking up all my free time. Whether I'm on the bus, train, toilet, ANYWHERE I've got the book in hand. Cannot wait until I get this out the way, then I'll be able to pay my baby some REAL attention thumb.gif

No.
I'm jumping into the e5 2687w or not at all.

I have to admit I'm not even sure what virtualization does... that's how much I need the feature.

Hi guys !

I'm trying to overclock properly my 3960X, and thanks for the infos about the voltages etc.

Is there a guide around there for this cpu ? I saw somewhere that I shouldn't push the VCore more than 1.4V, but what about all other voltages ?
I don't ask a full OC explanation, but if you have a link, I'll will be gratefull.

Thanks

Note: it's not my first computer, nor my first OC, but usually, I only have 5 settings to manage in the BIOS ><<br />
