It is when your soon to be wife spends every dime on the upcoming wedding. frown.gif

I'll accept wedding gifts, you know? lol

Lord knows I won't be getting anything I want in those fancy wrapped wedding gifts at the reception. "Yay! A blender.... Yay! Another blender... Yay! Some forks..."

LOL My wife got so mad at me because I made it known I wanted some hardware for a gift...and I got it. I don't even remember what it was now though. i think it might have been a GPU...a X1900XTX maybe? Whatever it was it has been ebayed along time ago

I don't understand the deal with "traditional" stuff at a wedding (...or as I pronounce "weeding" since that is what it is. The women are weeding out the men who can't put up with crazy stupid crap.)

Why not get something you need or want? Who the hell cares about stupid looking plates that I will never eat off of or silverware that I'd just as soon melt down to make a heatsink?

OH! and we had registered at a Yonkers and a Target. At the Target store I registered for some PC games when she wasn't around...sure enough i got two of them. She was furious!

Amen to that! lol

We haven't registered for gifts yet, but she doesn't want traditional gifts either. We are asking for money, actually. To put towards our honeymoon in Oregon. I wouldn't trust anyone coming to our wedding with buying me hardware... All but one of them is almost completely computer illiterate, and the one that isn't would probably get me what I asked for, but then just give me the box because he used it on some project of his. lmao

lol I don't know if I'd go that far... but I'd sure sell them real quick to buy something worthwhile. I've been living in a college kid state of mind for like 10 years. Plastic forks, paper plated and bowls, and ramen noodles. The less I spend on pointless junk like food, the more cash I have for the important things, like games, and hardware.... and tools.... And parts for my car...

I bought a Ryobi wired rotory tool for 5 dollars at a resell shop. It has worked great for over 4 years. It is actually a bit stronger than my Dremel. If you have pawn shops, thrift stores, or something in your area, check them out. They sometimes have really good tools for hardly anything.

You'd be surprised how many great tools they sometimes have. People pass away and the wives just take all their tools to the pawn shop!

Resale shops around here sell off anything good online rather than put it on the shelves.

Pawn Shops are always a good bet for tools, and around here even a tower or two. One of the pawn shops here has a CM HAF Advanced with some hefty specs in it for like $450 with an Acer 22" monitor, Razer Lycosa Mirrored, and a Razer Deathadder. Can't remember the specs, but that tower has been sitting there for months collecting dust. I've been thinking about buying it just to part out. I could probably make about $100 profit at least.
