First try re seating the card, Cleaning and reinstall the drivers also might help is stress test programs. Some games i know like FSX i get white lines because of textures which could be a game problem. Also another suggestion is either get another card and try that

Hey back again, I got some pictures and a video to show you.

This first picture is how the card needs to sit for it to function without any artefacts:

worksn.th.jpg

The second picture is just to show you when i lift the back of the card up using my thumb it artefacts, I have showed this in the video below the image what happens when I lift it up with my thumb. The card was perfect before the drop and immediately after it did this when inserted right.

doesntwork.th.jpg

The card was dropped only about 10cm from my hand onto the case were the back of the card near the backplate made contact with the side of my case.

Here are some pictures to show the pcb to see if anyone can spot anything, in one of the pictures I have circled where I think a tiny bit of the edge of the pcb got damaged but its minimal and is hard to see from the pictures.

Im probably going to try to sell the card on ebay as fault to see what I get for it. What can I clean the pcb with to get some of the dust off so it is easier to spot any scratches etc?

Any help would be great.

edit: I have put it through Kombuster and completes it fine when the card is sitting as in the first picture, also gamed on bf3 for a few mins.

When the card dropped might have bent the PCI I/O backplate. Re-align it to its original shape so the card makes good contact in the PCIe slot then securely screw it to the case. Nothing was damaged from the drop.

Definitely sounds like a possibility, does look a little bent from that picture. I will look at it more closely now and maybe take another picture just to confirm what way I will realign it. Cheers Ken

Sounds almost like one of the traces may have cracked or "stretched" when the card dropped, and when the card is bent upwards, it forces the "crack" together enough that it functions as normal.
