lowered it to the minimum if I recall correctly, and temps were not affected. Try it out IMO and look if your temps are fine and if the noise level has gone down completely

So the only options I have on my BIOS for changing cpu fan speed is changing it from optimal (what its on) to silent or performance mode. I cannot actually change the rpms it seems.

I currently have an ASUS Formula Rampage (board from 2008) if that helps at all.

What should I do?

That's for the fans. Put it to silent, that should lower the rpm and see if that does anything
post #17 of 21
If your case has a fan controller you can plug it in the fan controller and lower the rpm that way, that's what I did when I had my h60

If i plugged the h100 into a fan controller wouldn't that technically lower the rpm of the fans too since they are plugged into the h100?

I had a H50 and a H70, both rpm controlled to make the pumps quieter. It doesn't have an effect on performance but does make it more live with able. That being said, the H100 can't throttle down that much without stopping and it still didn't stop the buzzing.

Plus as you said it will effect the fan speen too as its fed off the pump's supply.

If its making a loud enough noise to hear over everything else, the unit is defective and warrants an RMA, known issue or not. You get a replacement thats the same, RMA that one as well or request a refund and return the product. Or you can just live with it and chalk it up as a strike against Corsair in your book.
