OC I-7 960 on a Sabertooth x58 - Page 2

I don't think it would hurt. AS5 is regarded as the best TIM by many people around here; just be sure to wipe all the old stuff off. Use rubbing alcohol to clean up the surface of the heat spreader and the H50's waterblock.

Remember to only apply enough TIM to very thinly coat the heat spreader, any more and it will impede the heat transfer between heat spreader and waterblock.

Also i would make sure that your VCORE voltage is not on auto. Having the voltages on auto will usually provide too much voltage and cause higher temps.

Rubber alcohol and coffee filters (lint free). I would put a dot (smaller than a pea) on the center and when u place the cool on give it a light wiggle... but once it touches dont lift it down.. so make sure u align it up on the mounting.. If you put it down then lift it again it may result in air pockets.. dont stress over tim tho.. its only acouple degrees tops..
