MSI Motherboard ( For Friends Rig) - Page 2

i just bought my p67a-gd65 thursday.
its 1 step down from their best p67 board from what i can read/find online.
ive read there are problems with earlier bios but ive read asus p8p67 boards are full of problems. this isnt fact. this is what ive read.

i originally wanted a p8p67 deluxe. the real reasons being the intel lan port and the popularity of their p67 boards.
i chose the msi because of the hi-c caps, the clearance around the cpu socket, the problems ive read about and it was a whopping $5 cheaper with a $40 rebate.
i lose 1 onboard usb header, dual lan ports(1 being intel) and a pci-e slot.

so far i love my MSI P67A-GD65.
2500k 8 hours prime blend stable. 25 run max ibt stable. 4.5ghz@1.336v(1.325v in bios) underload. max core temp of 60* on core1 with a 212+

If you measure that with a DMM its actually higher, its one of my gripes about MSI motherboards. With loadline you end up needing more vcore than you would need with an Asus or Gigabyte motherboard so the chip will run a bit hotter for the same oc.
