A Big big big Chieftec Tower from Germany

Hello from Germany tongue.gif

I just thought i could present my new Case Mod and Idea here.

Hardware:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 945 -> Intel Core I7 3960x 3,3Ghz
Mainboard: AsRock 870 Extreme 3 -> (I dont Know)
Graphiccards: ATI Radeon HD 6950 2Gb Sapphiere -> 2x ATI Radeon HD 6950 2Gb Sapphiere
Ram: 16Gb Corsair Vengaence -> No changes
SSD: Corsair SSD 60Gb 2.5" -> 2x Corsair SSD 60Gb 2.5"
Others:
Plenty of Harddrives in Raid(arround 10-20)
Two Raid Cards with each 4 Port Sata
Maybe Updating my 2 Power Supplies to 2 identical Power Supplies
Maybe an Cpu cooler by a CnC

((Maybe Watercooling))

This Hardware is hooked up to:
3x Dell 24 Inch 1920x1200
2x Samsung SynMaster 1280x1024
My Current Setup can be found here.

Case
Genaral: My Chieftec Tower isnt the biggest (chieftec da-01w-d) but i have another Chieftec Tower here (nearly the same). What I wanna do is put these two Towers together into one big Tower. The new case would be 1meter high. The reason for this is i need more 3,5 " Harddrives Slots and i also want i less Cables in the tower like yet.
Right now I am modellings arround in Sketch up to look how it should work.
For the Colors i will pick Red and White. I will use these Fans because they have white wings i love Fractal Design Fans tongue.gif Maybe I will paint the other part of the Fan red, but i am not sure with that.

Front side The Front side will get a touch Cooler Controller, DVD Burner and a Bluerayburner in the 5,25" Slots. further down there ist comming a Control Panel for turning on and off the LED`s and the Hydraulic i maybe will insert.

Back side The Back side will get 2 90mm Fans by the Mainboard further up there will be the Fans of the Powersupplies behind a mesh. On the Top/Bottom where will be the 2nd Case "added" there ist comming a big Fan. 140mm I Will think.

Left Side The left side is divided into 2 maybe 3 parts.
1st Part will be the bottom where you can see through an windows the Mainboard and Graphiccards. This part can be open or maybe will be opening by hydraulic arms.
2nd Part will be not "moveable". This is the parte where the 2 Powersupplies will be placed.
3rd Part will be the Top and can be open on both sides. In this part plenty of Harddrives will be placed.

The Color Combination will be Red White Red or White Red White or White White Red or Red Red White it depends on which color the caseframe will get.

Right Side
Will be divided into 2 Parts
1st Part will be from the left 1st Part till the Left 2nd Part and will be free for some Radiators when i buy a Water Cooling.
2nd Part will be the rest wich is the same thing as on the left side.

I will sleeve ALL Cables in Red or White. I dont wanna have any black things in my Case.

But lets come to the Parts of the case:
Top: In the top there will be only Harddrives i will build costum cases for them so i can easly swap them out. (if you have any Idea how i should do this tell me please).

Middle This is where the 2 Powersupplies will be placed and on the front side the 5,25" things. There will be lots of cables till i buy cable managented Power Supplies.

Bottom Here you can see the Mainboard, Graphiccards and CPU. There will be a windows out of Acryl Glas. The Side will maybe open with a hydraulic mechanism.

I will buy plenty of Red LED Stripes for the Case so that the case is fully lighting in Red.

I tought i will make my Radeons 6950 white. It depends wich color the mainboard will get. The Cooler on the Graphic Card I will replace with a bigger and Costum made Cooler and two or three Fractal Fans without their mounter (this means i only use the wings). The Graphiccard get a nice touch with some red Led lights.

Enough written!

Here is a Pic from the Case NOW:
700
Not the best Image but that should be ok.

For tomorrow is planned:
Getting Case Clean
Storage my Hardware Safe
Making the front better
remove HDD Holdes in the lower Part

Stay tuned!
What do you think about my case mod?
Do you have any Ideas?

PS: Sorry for my bad English :S
PS²: This wouldn't geht very fast on because i have every day school from 7:50 to 13:00, this isnt the real Problem the real Problem is the money. I haven`t enough money yet to buy all these hardware things. But after my Konfirmation i will have enough tongue.gif

Sell the 6950 and get a 7970 instead of CF 6950s. Similar performance, with more vRAM for your eyefinity setup, and less power draw.

Nope. 7970. Released recently, with a massive 3gb vRAM and performance close to 6950CF.

Though I agree with your suggestion of a 7970 entirely and completely, they are not technically released till the 9th of this month. But yeah, performance is off the charts, power draw amazing and crossfire scaling appears to be unmatched. I'll be getting one as soon as possible.

Its not at all like a 6950 crossfire.

I used the 6970cfx as a supplement to the 6990

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/299?vs=298

The 6950 is still more powerful. Its a better tessellating 580. Yes it does overclock well, but its not close to the 6950.

Update 1
Heey guys ...
a little Update for you:
700
The two 120mm Fans are just for testing in there i will buy two Fractal design Fans later.

700
I just make two holes in the right bottom for two "big" buttons. These two Buttons are for the 2nd powersupply and for the hydraulic pump.

Nothing more yet because i just take my hardware in other case. Now i will prepare the big cut to make out of 2 cases one big case.
You will get plan of that in arround 5 hours.

What do you think about what i should do after that? Or before the big cut?
