Silent aircooling in SG05?

Thread Starter
Hey hey,

i'm (still) planning my SG05-Rig, which i want as silent as possible. Way in the future i might use a H60 if i'm in a silly mood, but as i want to keep it simple (no casemod for now), i'd prefer not to.
now i'm thinking how to cool the cpu. gpu will be a gainward gtx 560 phantom, should be fine and more or less silent.

board is a zotac h67-itx wifi, fitted with a i5-2500.
i had the idea of using a AXP-140 passive (with the 120mm-intake and psu-80mm-exhaust doing the work). would that work? and what temps could i expect here?
or are there better / more silent/safer ideas? don't want to fry that cpu, but also would like to get rid of the boxed cooler.

greetings, cy-one

1) i'm sure it CAN be used as a hamster wheel if you mod your cpu to rotate biggrin.gif
2) too big for SG05 frown.gif
3) too expensive for cy-one

:/
should cost less than a H60.

I'm running a Scythe SCSK-1100 in my htpc. Its not silent, but it's pretty darn quiet.

Mhm, on which mainboard?
Because i've read that the Shuriken Rev.B blocks the PCIe-Slot on most 1155-Boards.

Zotac 9300 itx. Plenty of room for the PCI slot, but its 775 not 1155.

edit: Wow, that would be close on a 1155 board! Might not fit. Sorry.

GeminII s524?

Heres a pic of the older version in a sg-05

The new one has the heat pipes bent a little differently so it pushes the whole cooler off to the side, which might keep it away from the pci-e slot in your case.

Oh, and just for laughs: scythe Orochi
