Here is my delima just got a new liquid cooling loop and I am trying to take that next step from my air cooler that I had clocked at 3.8. Well I can get in to windows on a 4 ghz clock but it is not stable here are my settings see what you guys think

4.0 (200x20)
1.475v in bios cpuz showing 1.488v
got into windows with ram both set to auto and with all the timings put in for 1066
1.2v nb (and stock volt on nb)
and 2400 nb clock wich stock

Try 1.3v for NB

You sure 2400 is stock?

thats what it is showing on my motherboard when I load defaults
post #4 of 15
Try the 1.3v and see if that helps the NB.

tried it still got into windows got ready to run prime and even on small it is unstable I am just at a loss I have no idea what to do I have tried it with auto ram ram settings put in llc on llc off everything just can't figure it out, starting to frustrate me.
try a voltage of 1.45 volts for CPU in your bios, also raise the cpu/nb to 2600mhz, with thubans this will dramatically increases stability

make sure ram is at its stock speed and just OC with multiplier

Update, so I have been playing around with everything, tried what you said jdthomas no beans it is like I am now at a 3.6 ghz wall I can get stable at 3.6 using multiplier and I can get there using a combination of multi fsb but I just can't seem to get passed that. Right now I have it clocked at

3.625 (250 x 14.5)
1.475v in bios
anywhere from 1.416v - 1.44v showing in cpu-z .... with llc enabled
2750 nb at 1.3v (gonna try and bring that down a good bit)
ht at 2000
and ram at 1325 on auto timings

I just can't seem to get it past that 3.6 mark starting to think either maybe the ram is the problem but I honestly have no idea, maybe I just got a not so great chip.

NB @ 1.3..cpu/nb @ 1.375...try that..also..you can loosen up trfc for stability

try lowering ur ram to 800 and then test stability, just to eliminate ram being a issue, even though it shouldnt be if its running @ stock speed, but ya never know
