Hello!

i am using the Rampage IV extreme Motherboard.

I am having some trouble setting up a raid Config for my 4 SSDs

i have them all connected with individual 6gb sata cables to my 4 6gb sata connectors on the Mother board.

I am following the Instruction booklet on creating a Raid set but when i get to the Raid Configuration screen opon startup, i cant select any option.

my keybaord works becuase i can press the ESC key to exit but the arrows wont allow me to select anything and all my drives are reading NON-Raid for some reason.

yes i first went into the bios and set my SATA configuration to RAID before doing anything.

can anyone help me?

i noticed that only 2 of my ssds are showing up in the bios!

i double checked the connections and everything is connected properly.

is it becuase i connected all 4 ssd's on the 6Gb sata ports on my motherboard instead of the 3Gb ports?

can it only do 2 in 6gb's or somthing?

please HELP!

2 of the sata 6gb are controlled by the marvell controller, you can't raid 0 them together since you must configure them separately since the other 2 sata 6gb are native sata6gb from the pch. That's why only the 2 of you're SSD are appearing w/c is connected on the native sata 6gb. You can raid 0 them together if you connect the other two to the sata 3gb ports, but you'll lose any performance advantage if your ssd are sata 6gb.

thanks for clearing that up!

it makes sense now.

im having another issue now

i have the following ram CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 Corsair dominator GT 2133mhz 16GB.

ive updated my bios to the latest version 1005

in the bios my ram frequency is set to 1333mhz!~!~~~~~!!!!!!!

so i go and manually select 2133mhz and the factory timings as well 9 11 10 27

save and reboot.

setup failed to configure!!!!!!
press F1 to enter setup!

i cannot for the life of me get it to read the correct timings/frequency of this ram!

and i looked everywhere and there is no XMP profile!

where can i find it ?
