Didn't 1 card at 1700ish get over 50k? I could have sworn I seen that on here before.

Yep 1 card did get over 50k http://legitreviews.com/news/12109/ so 4 cards for only just under 100k looks to be some terrible scaling.

After the Bulldozer disappointment, AMD knew they had to give us something special to make it up.

Needless to say, they did!

This I can actually respect. Yes its true that they used exotic cooling to achieve this and its impossible to run like this 24/7 but at least the cards were stable enough to run benchmarks and show its performance. They didn't post a GPU-Z screen of the super high core clock while only running windows and nothing that stresses the cards.

The whole bulldozer world record crap bothered me so much because they weren't doing anything, no performance numbers because the thing could barely run windows.

Overclock.net - The pursuit of performance, not clock speed stable enough to idle at the desktop, PERFORMANCE.

As the above post mentioned, I also can't wait to see what the custom cards will be able to achieve. I really hope 5entinel doesn't destroy this thread as well simply because it involved the 7970.....

Although LN2 is impractical for 24/7 use (though costly, I think it could be easily done), somebody could just build a phase change array. That should be suitable for 24/7 use [though I would worry about a cooling failure].

Note: You just make a system to measure the amount of LN2 in the cauldron. When to level becomes too low, a system automatically feeds in the LN2 (like a toilet). Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't maintenance the only hindrance to LN2?

And to think... not too long ago, the 8800 Ultra was the card to get... I can't even imagine where graphics processors will be in 10 years.
