Yes. If I were there, I would have advised differently. Unfortunately, most of the general public can't or won't be troubled to build their own pc. Just like I know I could probably change the oil in my car, but I'll save myself the hassle and bring it somewhere. The only place around them to buy one is BB or Wal Mart, and my parents don't like shopping there.
and i think hp adds up the video memory with the system memory even if the video memory takes from your system memory which notice on picture the hybrid sli makes no sence but i have seen a lot of hp computers where the memory spec and hard drive spec is wrong as for the hard drive being wrong i believe it is because they add the hp media drive thing to the hard drive space Evan if you don't have the media drive but in your picture you only show one memory stick which could mean you have 2x512mb and 2 x2gb which would give you 5gbs
For that first part, if that is so, like someone else said that is some huge false advertising. If soemthing says there is x gigs, there better be! I don't care about potential, just like most others! If that's the case then I'll pay someone $500 instead of $600 and say "Well, it COULD be $600."
As for the ram, never thought of that. I'll have to check the other sticks closer, but I'd be very surprised if it were 2x512 and 2x2, just because four years ago, getting 2x2gb sticks was probably expensive (and I don't think my parents spent an arm and a leg on this pc, but I could be wrong. Tomorrow will tell more once I see the receipt)!

Eh. I think first I'll try HP. Just because as of right now, I'm in Kansas and my parents (who still have the case for the HP) are in NY. So it would be a lot of hassle (and more money than it's worth) to send everything back so it can be assembled for an out of date pc. I'll just have to see what my options are. It would be nice to get a 750 gig hdd just because nowadays that extra 250 gigs would be useful to me (and I was sort of counting on it..) and I can always find use for some ddr2 ram.Edited by raiderxx - 1/5/12 at 10:46am
