Thread Starter
Sorry to put urgent in the title, but this really is in regards on me being able to do coursework!

Today i upgraded from 4gb of 1333 RAM to 8GB of 1600 RAM and since the change ive not been able to get a display on my monitor and I'm not sure what i can do to get this back.

Unplug computer from the wall and remove the battery.
Put the old RAM back in.
Remove the BIOS battery.
Let it sit for about 1 minute.
Put the battery back in.
Plug the computer back in and power it on.
???
Profit.

I had the same problem a couple weeks ago.

I needed to update my bios in order for the ram to be accepted.

Even if you have the latest bios version make sure you unplug your computer and clear the cmos after you install the ram and before you try to turn it on.

Hate to feel like I'm asking the obvious, but have you tried booting with each stick one-by-one to try and eliminate any faulty sticks?

Thanks for help guys.

I had done everything then realised my CMOS battery was hidden by my graphics card, took that out, kept the battery out for a min. Refit and POOF! Screen on and working. Now all i need is to scavenge a PS/2 keyboard because it wont let me use my usb one for some reason frown.gif

Glad to hear you got it working.

You may have to enable USB legacy support in the BIOS to get your keyboard and mouse running.
